Responsibilities:
The Fundraising Consultant will support Barrow Wise's Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC) project and perform the following duties:
- Assess the current fundraising program, board and staff expectations, current capacity, and environmental context for fundraising utilizing past documents and plans and limited interviews.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of existing fundraising efforts and infrastructure to determine areas for improvement and development.
- Assess the opportunities and threats external to the organization as well as the agency readiness that will inform the fundraising plan to ensure its success.
- Develop a multi-year fund development plan and implementation strategy to build a fundraising program that generates $150,000 - $300,000 annually in unrestricted revenue and is reflective of and in alignment with PHI's mission/vision/values and capacity to execute and sustain.
- Develop a comprehensive fundraising plan with strategies to increase RSI's fundraising efforts from (i) individuals (ii) corporations and (ii) special events.
- Recommend key components and tactics for 2022 implementation, including possible donor circle.
- Initiate the implementation stage in conjunction with the Executive Director for an agreed-upon time following the completion of the plan.
- Identify 10 new, vetted, high-potential donors.
- Plan and create an initial fundraising drive.
- Test out fundraising strategy and complete fundraising cycle with initial drive including burden on the financial system and ability to track donors and thank them.
- Provide training and guidance to board members and senior management staff on how to sustain the fundraising plan.
- Recommend a potential course of action to identify new resources to meet the ongoing fundraising strategies outlined in the plan.
- Provide and present the fundraising plan to the senior management team and later to the RSI board at a quarterly board meeting.
- Drive locally to the Baltimore office when in-person meetings are required.
An ideal candidate has the following:
- S. Citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5 years of experience developing organizations' fundraising capacity for local community programs; demonstrate a proven track record for raising funds from individual and corporate donors and implementing fundraising campaigns.
- Familiarity with HABC and its programs, residents, and communities as demonstrated by the past 5 years of consultation, employment, or other engagement with HABC.
- Work independently, have excellent written and verbal communication, and have solid outcomes orientation that gets results.
- Must reside locally in the DMV area.
