Job Description
AECOM’s Technology Solutions Group is seeking a highly skilled Cisco network consultant with extensive experience in architecting Cisco routing and switching technologies. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and optimize complex network security solutions, ensuring robust protection and seamless connectivity for our clients. This position is open to a remote working situation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and architect network security solutions using Cisco technologies, meeting industry standards and client requirements
- Lead the deployment, configuration, and management of Cisco routing and optical transport systems, including firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and advanced malware protection (AMP)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess security needs, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend appropriate security measures
- Conduct thorough network and security assessments, providing detailed reports and actionable recommendations
- Ensure continuous monitoring and maintenance of security systems, responding promptly to security incidents and implementing corrective measures
- Provide consulting and lead the implementation of Cisco Identity Services engine with dual factor authentication
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network security architectures, configurations, and procedures
- Provide expert guidance and technical support to clients and internal teams on Cisco-related issues
- Stay informed with the latest developments in network security, emerging threats, and Cisco product line advancements
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, articulating complex technical concepts clearly and accessibly
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus eight (8) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required
- Professional experience in the design, installation, and configuration of network routing, switching, and security, focusing on large and complex networks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced certifications such as CCIE Security, CCNP Security, CISSP or equivalent are highly desirable
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and Duo Security
- Proven experience in designing and implementing network security solutions for enterprise-level environments
- Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching technologies including BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF
- Expertise in security technologies such as VPNs, IPSec, SSL/TLS, and advanced threat protection
- Experience with other Cisco technologies such as the Network Convergence series and 4000 series for DWDM optical transport networks, security products such as Cisco ASA, and Cisco Umbrella
- Knowledge of cloud security and integration with platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with compliance standards and best practices such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR
- Familiarity with Passive Optical Networks (GPON, XGS PON, Passive Optical LAN) is a plus
- Cisco: 10 years (Preferred)
- Network architecture: 8 years (Preferred)
- Cybersecurity: 3 years (Preferred)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
