Purpose of the Job
This position is responsible for performing a variety of patient care activities in a specialty clinic. Facilitates patient/provider communication and coordination of care.
Job Functions
- Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
- Provides specialized care to podiatry patients.
- Administers prescribed medications/vaccines and treatments in accordance with clinic policies and scope of certification/licensure.
- Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
- Provides education, consultation, or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.
- Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
- Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy, and legal responsibilities.
- Performs specialty procedures/tests.
- Helps maintain stocked supplies and sterilizes instruments/exam room.
- Assists in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary.
- Charts in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.
- Actively participates in a multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required.
- Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain).
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable.
- BLS/ACLS required within 180 days of hire.
- Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire.
- ACLS/BLS Tier 3 - Multisource required upon hire.
- Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate upon hire.
- Prescription Monitoring Program upon hire.
- National Provider Identifier upon hire.
