University of Chicago Medicine's therapy and rehabilitation services specialize in the treatment of injuries and disorders — particularly those sustained by trauma, orthopedic or neurological injury, burns, cancer or wounds. Essential Job Functions
- The Occupational Therapist performs Occupational Therapy services and assessments to UCM patients upon referral from a licensed practitioner.
- The OTR/L practices in an assigned clinical division of the Therapy Services department.
- The environment is fast-paced, offering the opportunity to work with medically complex patients.
- These positions will provide clinical service with opportunities for program development, mentoring and supervision of occupational therapy students.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Graduation from an approved program in Occupational Therapy.
- Minimum of Master’s degree required.
- CPR Certification in BLS.
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care which is age specific/appropriate for the types of patients served.
- Basic computer skills to allow access to operations and patient data.
- Appropriate interpersonal skills necessary to enable positive interactions with patients, families, team members, referral sources, and outside contacts.
- Requires graduation from an approved occupational therapy school.
- Requires current Occupational Therapy license in the State of Illinois.
- CPR certification as healthcare provider.
