Currently, we are partnered with a preferred client in Vernal, Utah in search of a highly talented Medical Technologist.
Job Summary:
The Medical Technologist will perform laboratory testing and work with the Laboratory Director, Pathologists, and other Technologists to provide prompt and accurate lab testing for hospital patients and the surrounding community. This is a full-time evening shift position.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collect specimens for laboratory examination via venipuncture and various culture techniques
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
- Perform manual tests as required and set up bacteria on appropriate media
- Maintain and document quality control
- Keep appropriate logs and records, including data entry and retrieval of patient results
- Report STAT results within 30 minutes
- Adhere to OSHA, CLIA, and Joint Commission regulations
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Associate's degree or higher in Clinical Lab Science or related field (required)
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience:
- Prior hospital laboratory experience preferred
- Experience with laboratory information systems and equipment
- License(s)/Certification(s):
- ASCP, AMT or equivalent Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician certification (required)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with laboratory information systems and equipment
