JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the surgeon and the circulating nurse and overall direction of the Assistant Managers, OR Manager, Director of Surgical Services and Vice President of Patient Care Services, the surgical technician assists in the nursing care and presentation of the surgical patient. The technologist handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly vigilant for maintenance of the sterile field.
JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS
Up to $20,000 Sign-on bonus!*
Type: Full Time (80 hours per 2 week pay period, with benefits)
Typical Hours: Variable start time, on call rotation
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED – required
- Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program – preferred
Certification & Licensures:
- BLS Certification - required
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – preferred
Experience:
- Prior experience within a Surgical Technician role OR completion of a surgical tech training/course - required
