MaineHealth Franklin Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to care for patients in the hospital at MaineHealth Franklin Hospital in Farmington, Maine. The role includes Advanced Practice Providers (APP) evaluating and treating patients both on the Hospital Medicine ward and the Emergency Department, as well as providing consultative services to the various sub-specialties within the hospital. The APP will work collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team of physicians, nursing staff, care management, and ancillary services to ensure optimal patient care. A great team-based atmosphere with a strong hospital community provides a supportive environment for practitioners to grow their skills caring for a patient population with complex needs. To facilitate providing exceptional patient care, practitioners will participate in quality initiative programs within the department of hospital medicine. This position is full time, with a variable, request-based schedule and does include weekend and holiday shifts. New Grads welcome to apply.
Scheduled hours: 10 hour shifts, daytime shifts (7 am to 5 pm), with potential for swing time shifts (10 am to 8 pm).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and successful completion of accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure.
- Experience in hospital medicine preferred, not required.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to effectively triage, organize and prioritize.
- Ability to function as part of a team.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
