FIRST ASSIST (RNFA or Surgical Tech) Cardiovascular

Our client is a 400 bed tertiary care facility.
As an advanced tertiary care center, it provides specialty cardiovascular care ranging from advanced electrophysiology studies to ventricular assist device implantation to heart transplants. With advanced cardiovascular training, the Heart Center’s clinical specialists and dedicated staff deliver innovative cardiac and vascular services including:
- Advanced diagnostics to evaluate coronary artery disease
- Diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations
- Advanced heart failure treatment in a dedicated inpatient unit
- Heart transplant
- Ventricular assist device (VAD) implantation
- Management of complex heart rhythm disorders
- Diagnostic and interventional procedures to treat peripheral vascular disease
- Electrophysiology studies and ablation treatments
- Advanced device therapies for pacemaker and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) placement
- Minimally invasive surgery for heart and blood vessel disorders
- Bypass, valve replacement, carotid and other surgical procedures
- Blood clot treatment with thrombectomies or inferior vena cava (IVC) filters
- Aquapheresis, an innovative therapy for fluid overload.
They are searching for multiple First Assists (Nurse or Surgical Techs) with some cardiovascular experience to join their BUSY surgical services team.
Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures. Follows hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patients during pre-operation procedures. Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body, and medical equipment. May be required to transport patients to and from the operating room. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Typically reports to a registered nurse.
Qualifications:
- A graduate of an accredited surgical technologist or nursing program.
- Must be certified to perform CPR with 0-2 years of clinical experience in a related field.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
