Responsibilities/Duties:
- Assessing and diagnosing clients consistent with the latest Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-V) guidelines.
- Creating treatment plans specific to the client’s goals, strengths and weaknesses.
- Providing individual, family or group therapy interventions that take into account the client’s strengths, needs, abilities and preferences.
- Providing crisis intervention and assessing risk factors of harm to self or others.
- Referring to alternative or supportive services based on the client’s needs.
- Providing timely electronic clinical documentation.
- Consulting and supervision with other clinicians.
- Working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Assisting in training and orientation of others.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Attend staff meetings as instructed.
- Complete relevant trainings, when tasked, to support business needs, and or compliance with state, local and federal laws and regulations.
Requirements
Education:
- Master’s Degree, or higher advanced degree.
- Licensed in the professional discipline in Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English to successfully accomplish the essential duties of the position.
- Exhibits professionalism, courtesy and excellent customer service while interacting with patients, guests and co-workers.
- Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Complies with the state laws for reporting abuse/neglect for children and adults.
- Experience providing professional counseling services, including diagnosis, therapeutic interventions, and developing treatment plans, preferred.
- Experience completing psychosocial assessments, conducting various assessments, and entering timely progress notes.
- Able to work a flexible schedule- evenings and weekends to meet patient needs.
- Excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks independently and work collaboratively on group projects.
- Basic math skills, data entry and computer skills.
- Experience with electronic medical record maintenance; HIPAA/Privacy Act Compliance preferred.
- Able to pass a mandatory Criminal Background Check (FBI and state) due to the sensitive nature of the position.
- Able to pass mandatory Child Abuse Background/Sexual Registry Checks.
- Ability to work independently- self-starter to support a growing practice.
- Able to obtain/maintain Malpractice Insurance (policy required prior to start date).
- Must be a team player, and motivated to continue pursuing continuous developmental opportunities to improve skill set.
