Responsibilities/Duties:

Assessing and diagnosing clients consistent with the latest Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-V) guidelines.
Creating treatment plans specific to the client’s goals, strengths and weaknesses.
Providing individual, family or group therapy interventions that take into account the client’s strengths, needs, abilities and preferences.
Providing crisis intervention and assessing risk factors of harm to self or others.
Referring to alternative or supportive services based on the client’s needs.
Providing timely electronic clinical documentation.
Consulting and supervision with other clinicians.
Working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
Assisting in training and orientation of others.
Other duties as assigned.
Attend staff meetings as instructed.
Complete relevant trainings, when tasked, to support business needs, and or compliance with state, local and federal laws and regulations.

Requirements

Education:

Master’s Degree, or higher advanced degree.
Licensed in the professional discipline in Virginia as a Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to read, write and communicate in English to successfully accomplish the essential duties of the position.
Exhibits professionalism, courtesy and excellent customer service while interacting with patients, guests and co-workers.
Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
Complies with the state laws for reporting abuse/neglect for children and adults.
Experience providing professional counseling services, including diagnosis, therapeutic interventions, and developing treatment plans, preferred.
Experience completing psychosocial assessments, conducting various assessments, and entering timely progress notes.
Able to work a flexible schedule- evenings and weekends to meet patient needs.
Excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks independently and work collaboratively on group projects.
Basic math skills, data entry and computer skills.
Experience with electronic medical record maintenance; HIPAA/Privacy Act Compliance preferred.
Able to pass a mandatory Criminal Background Check (FBI and state) due to the sensitive nature of the position.
Able to pass mandatory Child Abuse Background/Sexual Registry Checks.
Ability to work independently- self-starter to support a growing practice.
Able to obtain/maintain Malpractice Insurance (policy required prior to start date).
Must be a team player, and motivated to continue pursuing continuous developmental opportunities to improve skill set.
