Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Physician Assistant- Medical Staff Services- Full Time Nights- 7 pm - 7 am. In this role, the successful candidate will provide quality, professional, cost-effective health care to all patients at LICH. The Physician Assistant Service is dedicated to fulfilling a broad range of medical services under the supervision of a licensed physician.
Job Responsibilities:
- Introduces/identifies self as a physician assistant
- Performs initial assessment/history and physical examination
- Orders and interprets tests/results based on patient need
- Documents care in accordance with Hospital policy & procedure
- Formulates and implements treatment plan
- Consults with physician when required based on patient's condition
- Reassesses patients
- Provides emergency medical care including Code 64 management
- Triages patients--ED only
- Performs Trauma assessment/reassessment (Trauma Team only)
- Documents all pertinent patient information following policies
- Explains procedure to patient/family
- Performs procedures following accepted standards of care
- Assists in surgery-technique-OR credentialled only
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and techniques in the field
- Abides by all federal and state laws, rules, and regulations
- Participates in performance assessment and improvement studies
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify, you must have a Graduate of a PA program accredited by The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, or its predecessor. Current NCCPA certification, New York State license as Registered Physician Assistant, BLS & ACLS documentation, Pediatric Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) documentation, and psychomotor skills to perform examinations and procedures are required.

The salary range for the role is $126,416.16 - $157,584.96 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
