About the Role
This role is a 13 month Fixed Full time opportunity till 2026!
Your role as a Clinical Nurse is to provide oversight and ensure compliance in all areas of resident care. Provide a high level of clinical advice and education to Level 1 Registered Nurses and all other care workers. Assess residents’ care needs, develop relevant care strategies and evaluate care plans.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, and review of resident care to meet the needs of residents and to promote quality of life.
- Provide compassionate, ethical, quality, and comprehensive direct care to residents including individual case management and care plan reviews and ensure these reflect the holistic needs of the individual.
- Provide supervision for medications administration in rostered home or as required in other nearby designated homes.
- Significantly contribute to case conferencing regarding care planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Liaise and role model professional communication with family and other stakeholders.
- Supervise and monitor care practices to ensure competent, contemporary, and safe work practices are upheld by all.
- Delegate, coordinate, oversee and collate and document and process all relevant AN-ACC, admission assessments and care plan reviews.
- Prepare, supervise, and review all resident care data including assessments, care directives and care planning to ensure completion capturing changes in care needs.
- Engage in ongoing professional education and research in generalist practice and specialist areas and integrate learning into work practices of self and others. Specialist areas including but not limited to aged care, disability, cognitive and behavioural support, palliative care, wound management, infection control and other relevant clinical needs.
- Ensure all rights, dignity and confidentiality of residents are maintained in all matters.
About You
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical nursing practice with an understanding of contemporary nursing theory and care documentation models.
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles and aged care accreditation, and an ability to manage and implement significant administrative and clinical initiatives.
- High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and analytical and clinical research skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, supervise and direct within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proven ability to effectively liaise with the care services team, residents and their relatives, and other health/aged care professionals.
- Demonstrated proven ability in the use of Computers and technology including software such as the MS Office suite of applications.
- Ability and willingness to work within the Philosophies, Policies and Procedures of WMQ.

- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Relevant post registration qualifications in a specialty area or equivalent experience.

- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.
