Essential Functions:
- Coordinating with physicians and other healthcare professionals for creating and evaluating customized care plans.
- Maintaining reports of patients’ medical histories, and monitoring changes in their condition.
- Carrying out the requisite treatments and medications.
- Changing patient’s medication as indicated by their conditions and responses.
- Maintaining hygienic and safe working environment in compliance with the healthcare procedures.
- Providing instant care during medical emergencies.
- Discussing treatment with pharmacists and physicians in critical cases.
- Providing necessary guidance on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Preparing patients for examinations.
- Educating patient’s families about the disease and its treatment.
- Assisting doctors during surgery.
- Attending educational workshops for enhancing professional and technical knowledge.
- Performing lab work and giving complete information to the physician about patient’s condition during anesthesia.
- Recommending drugs and other forms of treatment, like inhalation therapy, physical therapy, etc.
Skills Abilities:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels.
- Ability to complete competency CPR and First Aid.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical equations.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- Possible exposure to inside environmental conditions.
- Exposure to distressed patients, families or visitors.
Physical Demands:
- Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per day.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Associates in Nursing, or has graduated from an accredited and approved nursing program.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current certification/license in the State of Missouri.
- Class B Basic Life Support (CPR) within 90 days of employment and renewed biannually.
Preferred Requirements:
- One year of general, or Skilled Nursing preferred.
