Clinical Trial Foundations (CTF) as part of Clinical Design, Delivery & Analytics (CDDA) provides leadership in the strategy and development of contemporary clinical trial processes, technologies, information, and capabilities. The CTF Senior Manager is a leader and key business partner with the global function and provides supervision and coaching to a team of individuals working closely with colleagues in CDDA, Tech@Lilly, and other components of the R&D organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead a group of direct reports (approximately 8-10).
- Contribute to strategy and associated yearly objectives, metrics to measure success; leading staff toward achieving strategy and goals.
- Involvement in the functional side of the team to better support members in their day-to-day work.
- Recruiting and retaining appropriately qualified staff, recommending and implementing staffing decisions.
- Management and supervision of staff including performance management, coaching, mentoring and robust development.
- Complete talent assessment and succession planning for direct reports.
- Foster an environment of diversity and inclusion.
- Responsible for oversight in the execution of timelines, budget, performance metrics and resource needs.
- Accountable for process improvement and proactive resolution of operational problems.
- Ensure effective shared learning across the function as well as application of shared learning and best practices.
- Develop strong collaborative relationships with customers and leadership of areas supported.
- Champion commitment to quality and ensure quality of staff work products.

- Monitors training compliance for assistants.
- Partner with Associate Director and Senior Director to ensure personal development plan is in place.
- Generate ideas, lead and/or provide input into new processes and process improvements.
- Actively support staff to share any new learning opportunities or technologies.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, medical, or information technology related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3+ years of Supervisory experience preferred.
- 2 or more years of Clinical Research experience preferred.
