Job Description - Ultrasound Tech - Phoebe Maternal/Fetal Medicine (31437)
JOB SUMMARY
- Performs complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the supervision of the Maternal Fetal Medicine physician for diagnosis and treatment of high-risk OB patients.
- Prepares and directs patients for examinations.
- Performs OB diagnostic procedures to ensure the delivery of quality care.
- Participates in quality control procedures.
- Contributes to the efficient operation of the department.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Provides excellent service, treating every patient with respect and courtesy, and explaining the exam to the patient.
- Works collaboratively with others to provide a positive work environment.
- Ensures a clean and safe environment for patients, fellow employees, and themselves.
- Maintains professional development and education.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.

- Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
- Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all OB patients based on demonstrated needs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
- May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.
- May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
- Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
- May be scheduled as needed including overtime.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Vocational / Technical Degree in Ultrasound Technology (Required).
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 1-2 years MFM scanning experience (Required).
- 3-4 years OBGYN scanning experience (Required).
- 0-1 year Genetic screening and fetal echo scanning experience (Preferred).
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) (Required).
- Registered in OB/GYN from ARDMS (Required).
- Nuchal Translucency certification (Preferred).
- Fetal Echo eligibility (Preferred).
