Part Time Contractor needed to service current large animal clients in Iowa.
While working with the Armor Animal Health team, this Contracted Veterinarian will be responsible for assisting the producer to reach the full genetic potential of their herds and to help them attain their animal health and production goals.
The Vet will do this by actively engaging clients in discussions about their operation, assisting in problem solving by performing investigations, identifying problems, and developing solutions with the producers while driving sales of lab/diagnostics and Armor's animal health products as appropriate. They will also partner with Sales Representatives to promote appropriate non-Rx products and services to augment therapy recommendations.
Requirements include regularly scheduling ride-alongs with sales reps to help further develop their technical knowledge and model communication techniques with producers. Conduct on-farm training such as demonstrating and teaching procedures like tubing calves, oral fluid administration, IV catheterization, drawing blood, and collecting lab samples.
Qualifications:
Licensed veterinarian currently licensed to practice in Iowa with Federal Accreditation.
Education and/or Experience:
Requires a DVM Degree; additional degrees and training are a plus. Practice experience is critical to perform duties. An Iowa Veterinarian license is required; licenses from other states are desirable. Federal Accreditation is also necessary.
Must have an overall understanding of the dairy and beef industries, knowledge of animal production, nutrition, and products used in successful operations. A minimum of 4 years of production animal experience is required.
