DescriptionJOB SUMMARY
CT technologist is responsible for performing CT scans and procedures, under the supervision of a qualified physician for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. The CT technologist must be able to accurately interpret the physician's scanning instructions, start & administer IV contrast media, prepare and perform the scans according to established protocols. The technologist must be knowledgeable about the radiation exposure to the patient and make technical changes according to body habitus, age, and the ALARA principle. The technologist provides direct patient care to all ages of patients and is expected to deliver excellent customer service by treating every patient with respect, courtesy, and explaining the exam to the patient. The technologist must be able to work collaboratively with others to provide a positive work environment.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines.

- Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
- Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
- Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age-specific customer service skills.
- Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.
- May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.
- May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
- Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
- May be scheduled as needed including overtime.
Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Vocational / Technical Degree in Radiologic Technology (Required).
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 1 - 2 years CT (Preferred).
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES
- Required Certifications/Licensures: Certified Computed Tomography (CT)(ARRT), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Basic Life Support (BLS).
