Job Summary:
If you love helping animals, this is the right place for you! UW Veterinary Care (UWVC) is seeking a skilled radiologic technologist to assist in essential patient diagnostic imaging procedures. Operate general stationary and portable x-ray equipment. Assist with procedures including patient care, equipment settings, and equipment troubleshooting. Perform cross sectional imaging such as CT and/or MRI. Perform x-rays on large, small, and exotic patients.
Responsibilities:
- 30% Performs radiologic procedures as assigned adhering to prescribed techniques.
- 30% Follows prescribed techniques in administering general and specific x-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or other radiologic scanning procedures. Adjusts equipment, determines proper voltage, current and desired exposure time, arranges immobilization and support devices to obtain position of patient/participant, adjusts lead shields to protect unaffected parts of the patient's/participant's body, adjusts cone to direct concentration of rays on specific area, and selects proper film.
- 5% Prepares, assesses, and observes patient/participant for procedures and possible reactions or outcomes.
- 5% Transports patients/participants within department, to and from waiting area, as required.
- 5% Processes images, film, and/or other scanning documentation in accordance to guidelines and photographic technique. Performs quality control activities to ensure optimal quality radiographs.
- 5% Troubleshoots and reports equipment problems to supervisor.
- 5% Cleans and disinfects patient/participant rooms and equipment to maintain highest quality safety and cleanliness standards.
- 5% Performs cross sectional studies and administration of tracers.
- 5% Performs imaging studies on large and small animals.
- 5% Performs fluoroscopy exams and mobile x-ray on patients as needed.
Education:
Required
Associate's Degree (minimum requirement).
Qualifications:
Seeking an ARRT Radiologic Technologist with experience in digital radiography and fluoroscopy. Licensed in other cross-sectional modalities preferred but not required. Previous large and small animal handling desired.
License/Certification:
Required
AART - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Certification in CT/MRI preferred.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday from 10:00am - 6:30pm.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
Salary:
Minimum $25.00 HOURLY
Depending on Qualifications.
