Job Summary
The University of Utah College of Health and Department of Physical Therapy & Athletic Training is seeking individuals to support our research program evaluating telehealth rehabilitation for persons with chronic pain conditions. The primary responsibilities include following research protocols and providing treatment sessions using telehealth for persons with chronic pain. Interaction with patients and research participants receiving care at community health centers or other facilities throughout Utah and the region is expected. Candidates should be able to communicate in both Spanish and English.
This position is funded by grants from the federal government.
Responsibilities
- Provide telehealth sessions involving instruction in exercise, patient education and instructions for self-management of chronic pain.
- Participate in obtaining informed consent.
- Assist in scheduling patients for follow-up study treatment sessions and assessments.
- Data entry into REDCap study database.
- Documentation of all communications and sessions with study participants.
- Identify and report adverse events and protocol deviations.
- Communicate with clinical partners, physicians, staff, etc., around the clinical care of participants.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
- Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Utah, or obtain one within 90 days of hire under the Physical Therapy Compact.
- This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements, including immunizations according to CDC standards and hospital policy.
- Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences
- Able to communicate in both English and Spanish.
- Current license in the state of Utah as a Physical Therapist.
- Completion of University RED Clinical Certification within two months of hire.
- Completion of CITI Human Subjects and Good Clinical Practice Training within one month of hire.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, HIPAA, and IRB regulations; understanding of research procedures; ability to function independently is preferred.
- Experience with human subjects research.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software programs.
- Experience with REDCap.
