Assistant Nurse Manager – Med Surg/Telemetry/ICU

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Nurse Manager for our MS/T/ICU unit. The successful candidate will manage unit activities, monitor quality, service, and utilization standards, and supervise day-to-day shift activities to ensure the highest level of patient care.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Clinical Operations Management: Oversee daily clinical operations, including practice standards, staffing, payroll, budgets, fiscal management, and quality improvement. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental policies.
- Staff Development: Develop and implement action plans to improve staff development. Supervise a unit with approximately 30 employees.
- Resource Allocation: Monitor personnel allocation based on patient needs to provide the best level of patient care while identifying savings opportunities.
- Unit Operations Supervision: Supervise daily unit operations, including human resources management, safety programs, and risk management.
- Quality and Service Standards: Monitor quality of service and utilization standards, ensuring coordinated treatment plans, customer-focused care, and cost-effective service utilization.
- Collaboration: Work with healthcare providers outside the unit to achieve optimal patient care. Investigate and resolve patient/family concerns regarding patient care.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of recent acute facility experience
- Minimum two (2) years of Lead, Charge, or Assistant Manager/Supervisor experience
- Must have current California RN license
- Basic Life Support certification required
- ACLS certification strongly preferred
- Must have BSN degree or higher
- Experience in a union hospital environment preferred
Compensation:
Salary: Competitive compensation of $182,000 - $186,000
