1. Meet or exceed patient care requirements by assisting the Clinic Nurse Supervisor manage the operations within the Clinic.
- Monitor adherence to policy and procedure to ensure safety of patients and staff.
- Work with other departments in providing services and resources.
- Assist with achieving department goals and objectives.
- Assist in maintaining documentation of patient care services by auditing nursing intake documentation.
- Serve as a resource for staff in solving clinical and operational questions/issues. Use proper chain of command when unable to resolve these issues.
- Promote trust with open and effective communication.
- Participate in quality and process improvement initiatives for the department.
2. Monitor staff performance by coaching, educating and role modeling to ensure ongoing performance improvement.
- Provide immediate feedback to staff regarding performance issues under the direction of the Clinic Nursing Supervisor.

- Contribute to professional growth of nursing staff.
- Communicate organizational management decisions in a positive manner.
- Assist in preparation and participate in surveys and certifications.
- Recognize, take action and report deficiencies in a timely manner.
- Assist with monitoring and documenting performance and attendance of staff and report deficiencies to Clinic Nurse Supervisor.
- Review documentation and provide input to management for performance appraisals.
3. Meet or exceed patient care requirements by coordinating the operations within the Clinic.
- Complete patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing and staff; following up on work results.
- Communicate with other health care team members and departments to meet patient care requirements.
- Ensure patient care assignments are based on patient needs and staff competency.
- Serve as a patient advocate.
- Monitor adherence to policy and procedure to ensure safety of patients and staff.
- Assist in maintaining equipment and check for outdated supplies monthly for patient care. Report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel. Re-order supplies as needed.
- Keep management informed of patient care issues.
- Resolve patient needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
4. Perform emergency treatment as required in accordance with RN scope of practice.
- Initiate or assist in patient care in an effective and responsive manner as each situation requires.
- Triage each potential emergency event appropriately and involve other resources as needed.
- Administer and perform emergent care in accordance with the applicable patient population type, which may range from newborn to geriatrics.
- Follow emergency policies, procedures and protocols in an effective manner.
5. Utilize the nursing process, for the performance of patient care, to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care to achieve prioritized patient outcomes according to the appropriate scope of practice.
- Conduct comprehensive rooming intake for clinic patients.
- Review, discuss and implement health care provider orders appropriately and take appropriate measures if there are questions.
- Serve as a patient advocate.
- Demonstrate personal accountability in the delivery of patient care in a competent, professional and compassionate manner.
6. Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
- Promote team concept through effective communication regarding patient volume and provider needs with appropriate individuals that are involved in the patient’s care.
- Work effectively with ancillary areas as part of the team approach to patient care.
- Direct patient support team members effectively and appropriately.
- Demonstrate initiative and flexibility in the provision of patient care.
- Inform and involve clinic administration regarding patient care issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
7. Promote and ensure patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.
- Administer medications, treatments and procedures in a timely and safe manner according to health care provider orders and nursing policy, including appropriate performance of standard precautions, using two patient identifiers, and performing patient risk evaluations every shift.
- Utilize proper body mechanics, transfer/lifting techniques to minimize fall risk to patient and injury to self.
- Implement infectious disease controls as appropriate including isolation procedures, proper use of hand washing and gloves.
- Follow proper procedures for wasting medications and disposal of sharps and hazardous materials.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
