This is a technical position requiring training in the field of radiology technology and computed tomography. The individual is responsible for performing radiographic examinations, assisting radiologists and other physicians during fluoroscopic studies, performing exams in the operating room, the emergency room, and non-contrast CT and basic contrast CT imaging. Performing duties as a Multi-modality technologist in two or more modalities according to department’s policies and procedures.
Position Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates complete competency to operate all routine diagnostic and fluoroscopic equipment.
- Performs exams in a timely manner so that rooms may be turned around.
- Demonstrate an ability to accurately perform all routine procedures, to include arthrograms, myelograms, lumbar puncture and any study requiring contrast injection.
- Demonstrate the ability to assess film quality and make corrections when necessary.
- Complete all computer procedures as required for quality management and demonstrates knowledge of ordering, tracking and canceling exams.
- Perform exams in the emergency room and surgery in a competent and timely manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate all portables and C-Arm equipment.
- Demonstrate ability to perform non-contrast CT exams.
- Planned progress to learn contrast CT exams.
- Maintain a repeat rate of less than 5%.
- May be delegated to perform functions according to department policies as In-charge or Lead Technologist if shift has 3 or more staff members based on seniority in absence of Supervisor of Imaging Services and Director of Imaging Services.
- Must participate in Rotating call schedule for holidays, weekdays, and weekends. Response time to answer call back is 30 minutes when called; arrival time 45 minutes to hospital.
- Provides support and performs duties in any department as deemed necessary.
Experience:
Graduate from an accredited two-year radiology program or equivalent military program. Previous hospital experience preferred.
Education:
Graduate of Accredited School of Radiological Technology or equivalent military program.
Special Qualifications:
Required:
American Registry of Radiology Technology required/CT registry within 3 years recommended.
BLS certification required.
