The County of Riverside's Cardiac Catheterization Unit at Riverside University Health System's Medical Center seeks an Interventional Radiologic Technologist (IRTech) to join our Cath Lab team in Moreno Valley.
This position is responsible for performing both circulating and scrub duties as an Interventional Technologist in the Cardiovascular Lab. Responsibilities include preparing and managing diagnostic tools and sterile supplies, supporting the Monitor and Sedation Nurse, and operating imaging equipment. The technologist will also assist providers during procedures by performing essential table-side duties, such as loading wires and administering contrast injections. Under the supervision of the Cardiovascular Lab Director, the technologist ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, operates digital equipment, assists in procedures, and handles supply stocking, image processing, and equipment checks.
Schedule:
4/10 Monday through Friday 7 am to 5:30 pm
Responsibilities:
- Assist with patient appointments in accordance to hospital policies and procedures; establish proper patient identity; confirm physician orders; ensure patient position, comfort and safety; explain exam procedures to patients.
- Under minimal supervision, provide diagnostic imaging services for patients; position and transfer patients; use immobilization devices as required; select proper technical factors.
- Demonstrate clinical competence, initiative, and timely completion of work assignments.
- Operate equipment as directed; provide patient protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- Assist physicians in the administering of contrast media; assist physicians during invasive and/or non-invasive diagnostic imaging procedures; assure the technical quality and the proper functioning of equipment, injectors, scanners, and workstations.
- Instruct students and ancillary personnel; assist in the use of a variety of equipment or procedures.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with patients, visitors, departmental, and hospital staff.
- Evaluate new products and equipment for possible future use; participate in developing new techniques and procedures.
- Prepare preliminary reports as determined by lead medical personnel; monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of service and office supplies; maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Experience:
Three years as a Radiologic Technologist, including one year of recent experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) is desired but not required.
License/Certificate:
Possession of a valid license to practice as a Certified Radiologic Technologist in the State of California (CRT) is required.
Possession of valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificates issued by the American Heart Association is required.
Certification in Cardiovascular – Interventional Radiography (CV) or Cardiac – Interventional Radiography (CI) issued by ARRT or as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is preferred but not required.
