Charleston has repeatedly been voted the #1 place to live in America and provides the perfect marriage between gorgeous historical architecture and surrounding natural beauty. "The Holy City" offers an unparalleled array of culture and arts, amazing cuisine, shopping, historic landmarks, and museums. Surrounding beaches, fresh and salt water, historic plantations, golf courses and professional sports, all provide leisure and recreation for the entire family.
Our clinic was founded in 1984 just outside Charleston and was the first of its kind in The Lowcountry. Building on the legacy of its founder, we continue to place high value on education, leadership and experience as well as remaining on the forefront of current diagnostics and treatments. We are "The Lowcountry's leader in equine medicine and surgery".
Our mission is to provide progressive, individualized equine healthcare with experience, skill, professionalism and compassion.
It is our vision to remain the premier equine clinic in The Lowcountry by equipping our clients to be the most knowledgeable, capable and comfortable in the care of their horses, and for our patients to outrun, outjump, outperform, outshine, feel better and live longer than those not under our care.
The successful applicant will be someone who shares our mission, vision, and core values and who has a passion for the strength and beauty of horses as well as the science of veterinary medicine. You will be working alongside 2 highly respected and capable veterinarians, 4 full-time support staff and 8 after-hours ICU technicians in a primarily ambulatory practice with hospitalization and surgical capabilities.
We are looking for someone who is experienced, knowledgeable, and durable, or young, driven, and energetic; any combination of these traits will earn success. The work schedule is flexible but will require one weekday per week and every fourth weekend on-call for after-hours emergencies. Financial compensation will be determined based on experience and skillset but will be calculated as a base salary, or 23% commission on gross production (whichever is higher); 80% of after-hours emergency fees will also be awarded.
