Job Summary: Patient care in the Division of Surgical Oncology, Colorectal Surgery. The Advanced Practice Clinician (physician assistant/nurse practitioner) role provides care to patients in a University Health Sciences/Huntsman Cancer Center clinic and hospital unit. Responsibilities include outpatient care, preoperative and postoperative care, and treatment of benign anorectal diseases. Prior experience with colorectal surgery/gastroenterology preferred. Responsibilities:
- Independent outpatient surgery clinic 4-5 days/week.
- Cover consultations from the emergency department or other hospital services.
- Respond to outpatient messages and telephone calls.
- Participate in continuing medical education to include specialty and sub-specialty meetings, clubs, boards, and conferences.
- Assist in the collection for research projects.
- Participate in special projects and committee functions including team meetings and education conferences.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
- Current licensure to practice as a Physician’s Assistant from the State of Utah.
- Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system, to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Preferred:
- Certification in ACLS / BLS / NRP / ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria.
