AHC–American Health Communities is a network of 29 skilled nursing and rehab facilities. We treat patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery and provide daily care for long-term residents. Our parent company, American Health Partners, based in Tennessee, is a multifaceted company with operations in seven states.
Director of Nursing (RN) Responsibilities:
- Manage the nursing department and administer the nursing programs in compliance with state and federal regulations as well as company policy and procedures.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Nursing Services Department, including Infection Control practices, Utilization review, QA logs, physician’s orders, and recertifications.
- Oversee the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents.
- Determine staffing needs and assist with recruitment and hiring of staff.
- Participate in various facility committees such as care plans, infection control, pharmaceutical, budget, quality assessment and assurance, and compliance committee.
- Prepare or assist in the preparation and implementation of the Nursing Services Department budget.
- Perform emergency procedures such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; Registered Nursing (RN) Degree required.
- Registered Nursing (RN) License.
- CPR certification.
- Preferred three (3) years’ experience in supervision of others in a healthcare setting.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience implementing total patient care and care planning.
- Minimum of six (6) months experience in a management position in a nursing department.
- Position may require unscheduled overtime, weekend, and after-hours work.
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours.
- Job will require frequent lifting of objects up to 50 pounds.
- Supervises support staff including scheduling and assigning work, reviewing performance, and recommending salary increases or promotions.
