Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
POSITION DETAILS:
Shift: Rotating, 8 hour
FTE: Part-time, Benefits Eligible
Location: Main Campus - Psych Emergency Department (San Diego, CA)
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs individualized nursing care for patients and families under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practitioner. Practices basic assessment skills, data collection, participates in planning, executes interventions in accordance with the plan of care, and contributes to the evaluation of outcomes. Assists the team with educating and communicating plan of care to patients and families.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma, GED or foreign equivalent
- One year of experience
- Licensed Psychiatric Technician (California)
- CPR/BLS certification (issued by American Heart Association)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree
- Three years of experience
- Bilingual Spanish
- Previous acute care Medical/Psych experience
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the RN/Licensed Care Provider, responsible for applying the nursing process through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation of patient care. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing. Demonstrates clinical competence in performing, assisting and/or documenting tasks and procedures with excellence and quality, per department standards, regulatory guidelines and within scope of practice using age/developmental appropriate approach. Implements plan of care, provides patient and family teaching, follow-up, and discharge (after visit summaries) instructions with excellence and quality, per departmental standards and within scope of practice.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree or Nursing Diploma from an accredited LVN program
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
- CPR/BLS certification (issued by American Heart Association)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- One year of experience
- At least one year of pediatric experience
- Bilingual Spanish
