Job Description
Responsible for performing routine and complex procedures in Diagnostic Imaging to produce high quality images of anatomical structures for interpretation by the Radiologist. Adheres to and enforces mandatory radiation safety measures in all areas. Participates in equipment maintenance program. Reviews and evaluates radiographic, Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) images to determine if satisfactory for diagnostic purposes. Instructs senior veterinary students in radiation safety, correct imaging positioning and technique. Performs related clerical duties. Required to work variable schedule and take afterhours call.
Required Qualifications
Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT); Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT); or Radiology Technologist (RTR): previous experience and working knowledge of diagnostic radiology, experience working with veterinary patients; previous experience and working knowledge of biomedical imaging equipment; excellent communications necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, students, faculty and patients; ability to readily learn new procedures and must be adaptable and flexible.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CT and/or MRI.
