We seek a dedicated Pharmacy Professional to join our team, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the health and well-being of numerous patients. Your responsibilities will span a range of pharmacy activities, including but not limited to:
- Medication Management:
- Accurately dispensing medications and making informed purchasing decisions.
- Diligently monitoring drug therapies and preparing intravenous (IV) medications.
- Strict adherence to facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Clinical Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal drug therapy.
- Reviewing and interpreting medication orders for inpatients, focusing on dosage, administration route, frequency, and potential drug interactions while screening for allergies.
- Delivering clinical pharmacy services like medication reconciliation, pharmacokinetic dosing, renal adjustments, and anticoagulation monitoring.
- Distribution Duties:
- Executing medication distributive functions such as preparation, verification, labeling, compounding, and dispensing.
- Offering drug information to healthcare professionals and patients.
- Managing quality assurance, controlled substances security, and hazardous medication disposal.
- Supervisory and Training Roles:
- Overseeing and guiding pharmacy technicians, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Involvement in the orientation and training of pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Technical and Compliance Tasks:
- Preparing a wide range of sterile products, including cytotoxic and hazardous drugs, with adherence to safety protocols.
- Conducting pharmaceutical calculations for various preparations, including advanced IV admixtures and parenteral nutrition solutions.
- Handling physician orders for IV solutions, prescriptions, and drug orders, focusing on patient safety and adherence to hospital policies.
Requirements:
- Minimum one year of experience in a hospital pharmacy setting
- Required certification in pharmacy
- PharmD degree mandatory
- Proficiency in IV compounding
