St. Catherine University invites applications for a Director, Katie Leadership Impact (KLI) program. This is a 3-year regular grant-funded full-time position.
The Katie Leadership Impact Program (KLI) fosters the talents of women, providing leadership education and practical experiences that prepare them to have meaningful careers and transformative impacts on the world.
The Program Director will provide strategic vision, direction, and operational leadership for the Katie Leadership Impact and its core mission, ensuring its continued success as a nationally and internationally recognized programming for developing women leaders and driving the culture of change. The Director will work collaboratively with internal and external partners to expand opportunities for students, ensuring access to leadership development for women of all backgrounds, with a focus on women from underrepresented groups. Harnessing the many successes of the Katie Leadership Impact program, the Director will advance and augment this premier women’s leadership development initiative to maximize the breadth and depth of student impact.

What Success Looks Like in this Role over the Next Three Years:
Success will be measured by the full implementation of KLI programs and their integration with existing university initiatives. Students from diverse backgrounds will participate in KLI, utilizing new leadership development offerings, storytelling, mentorship opportunities, internships, and global leadership experiences. KLI will be a vital part of the university’s fabric, known locally, nationally and internationally, and will serve as an effective recruiting program. Strong external partnerships and funding sources will provide robust support through internships, funding, and student mentorship.
Responsibilities Include:
- Navigate complex organizational and administrative processes to ensure program success.
- Establish and track key program metrics using program data, focusing on student participation, leadership skill development, diversity outcomes, and total impact.
- Use program data for making continual improvements that support student success.
- Collaborate with the Dean and faculty on academic and administrative approval processes.
- Manage the KLI budget and financial reporting.
- Work with development and administration to cultivate future philanthropic support, grant funding, and partnerships.
- Support the Dean in meeting reporting requirements and managing donor relationships.
- Strategize for student recruitment and award processes for Katie Leadership Impact Scholarships, including need-based and travel scholarships.
- Ensure equitable access to leadership opportunities for all students.
- Supervise KLI staff and students.
- Plan, lead, and influence Business Summer Camp for high school girls.
- With the help of the KLI Program coordinator, ensure a rigorous follow through of all program components.
- Work closely with KLI Committee for strategic thinking and planning.
- Collaborate with faculty on the development and delivery of KLI academic and experiential learning programs, including new global leadership programming and storytelling.
- Collaborate with the Dean and faculty to define and enhance the KLI brand, ensuring consistent messaging, a strong visual identity, and increased program visibility through public relations, events, and social media. Develop a high-level communication strategy.
- Work closely with faculty and the Dean on strategic thinking, planning, and implementation of new KLI initiatives, focusing on leadership opportunities for all students, with an emphasis on underrepresented groups.
- Grow annual student participation in KLI programs and nurture KLI brand ambassadors.
- Support the Dean in their efforts to increase external financial support through partnerships and fundraising efforts.
- Plan collaborative events with internal and external partners.
- Work with stakeholders across the university to promote KLI opportunities, including building enrollment of BIPOC students.
- Expand a diverse pipeline of women leaders through the Lead & Influence Business Summer Camp for high school girls.
- Connect students with alumnae and other professionals for mentorship, career guidance, networking, and support.
- Support and coach students to succeed in KLI leadership coursework and co-curricular programming.
- Prepare women to lead effectively across cultures through experiential learning opportunities with diverse organizations at home and abroad.
- Oversee developing and managing internship and experiential learning programs and increase access to paid internships and leadership opportunities.
- Connect students with alumnae and professionals, prioritizing pairings that support BIPOC students.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to expand career-related opportunities for KLI participants.
- Develop and expand relationships to support KLI women’s leadership development programming and initiatives on campus (Athletics Department, O’Shaughnessy Auditorium, BIPOC Student Association, Office of Career Development).
- Lead the expansion of the Women of Color Leadership Series and other community engagement programs that provide inspiration and visibility for KLI.
- Expand partnerships with other foundations, corporations, and organizations to co-host the Women of Color Leadership Series and other community engagement programs.
- Work with external partners to develop career pipelines for students, ensuring strong post-graduation employment outcomes.
- Contribute to grant-writing and fundraising efforts to sustain and grow the KLI program, focusing on securing additional funding for scholarships and global leadership initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Five years of experience managing a complex program or organization
- Demonstrated commitment to or experience in inclusion and equity
- Experience budgeting and managing expenses
- Experience collaborating respectfully and effectively with a variety of internal and external partners
- Experience coordinating complex projects requiring a high degree of accuracy, shifting timelines, and competing priorities
- Experience establishing, tracking, and reporting on key program metrics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to being nimble and flexible
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or other business or leadership-related Master’s degree
- Experience creating programs to support students in achieving career-related success in college-level curricular and co-curricular activities
- Experience launching innovative and successful leadership development programs in higher education or business
- Experience creating programs designed to support and/or professionally develop students from diverse backgrounds, including BIPOC applicants.
- Strong network of business professionals in the Twin Cities area.
