A non-profit 501(c)(3), Dorcas International offers adult education, language learning, job training, employment services, citizenship and immigration services, refugee resettlement, clothing and household needs, and more.
The Case Manager will provide comprehensive wrap-around support for incoming refugees, immigrants, students, youth, and low-income clients of the agency. The Case Manager will coordinate and facilitate access to services, review and maintain updated service plans, and support clients in their goals to sustain self-sufficiency and overcome obstacles.
The candidate should have the following:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work or 3+ years of equivalent experience
- Familiarity with and ability to navigate community social services and government services
- Strong interpersonal and rapport-building skills
- Ability to identify problems and develop solutions
- Ability to manage time and priorities effectively
- Team player who can collaborate with colleagues
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills (records, files, schedules, other)
- Ability to communicate and work with diverse populations/cultures
- Ability to:
- Thoroughly assess, prioritize, and document client needs and goals
- Develop and document a case plan within the area of support services being provided
- Build client agreement on the case plan, action steps, and timeframe of services
- Coordinate and make appropriate referrals internally and externally to Dorcas International for needed resources and services
- Ensure proper follow-up, and have face-to-face interactions with clients and other parties as needed
- Provide problem-solving assistance; act as mediator/liaison, both internally and externally
- Maintain systematic records of client interactions, services and referrals, and outcomes in agency and external databases as required by funders
- Remain well versed and up to date in the area of case management expertise
- Hold a valid driver’s license
- Bilingual a plus in Spanish, Arabic, Swahili
