Schedule: Two Fridays/month 11a-4p and cover additional shifts per unit needs
Location: AdventHealth Transplant Institute Procedure Clinic - 2415 N Orange Ave Orlando, FL 32804 (Suite 701)
The role you’ll contribute:
The Cardiovascular Sonographer performs all high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams per registry and in accordance with department protocols. Assists physicians with interventional procedures such as but not limited to transesophageal and stress echocardiograms. The Cardiovascular Sonographer is knowledgeable in and carries out all applicable processes of the department.

- Utilizes the knowledge and skills for age-specific factors necessary to perform safe, accurate and effective procedures on patients.
- Performs routine and complex studies, in addition to assisting with a variety of imaging procedures.
- Must be able to perform/function with little or no supervision.
- Consistently obtains the highest quality scans possible in relation to patient body habitus and/or NPO prep status.
- Completes exams in a timely manner and maintains a professional relationship with all customers.
- Utilizes computer system to update exam status and ensures charges match procedure completed.
- Sets up and adjusts imaging equipment, while manually maneuvering transducers to perform exams.
- Maintains supply inventory and restocks to maintain proper operating levels.
- Rotates between multiple campuses/departments as needed.
- Required to adjust work schedule to suit the needs of the department.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
- Must be able to perform a full range of diagnostic echocardiogram and/or vascular ultrasound procedures.
- Must be able to operate all ultrasound systems in the assigned department.
- Must be able to recognize significant anatomical structures, artifacts, pathology.
- Ability to effectively communicate and explain procedures to patients in a clear and concise manner.
- Basic EKG Knowledge.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Associates of Science Cardiovascular Sonography OR Accredited Graduate of Sonographer Program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Must hold a minimum of one of the following registries: American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS/RVT) OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International-Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS/RVS).
