Overview
Monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcome and quality of care, recommends rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and provides accurate and efficient medication distribution. Implements and evaluates nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens. Supervises pharmacy technical staff.

Responsibilities
Determines and recommends the most appropriate and cost effective drug therapy through a review of patient specific data and implementation of pharmacy protocols.
Adequately evaluates patient data for potential drug-drug interactions, allergy data, height and weight.
Evaluates assigned Sentri-7 and Phred alerts
Adequately documents clinical interventions and prevented medication errors.
Ensures accuracy and timeliness of medications dispensed through the distribution system.
Operates Pyxis and CII Safe efficiently.
Demonstrates an understanding of state and federal laws governing the practice of pharmacy and practices the profession of pharmacy in a professional, legal, and ethical manner.
implements and evaluates nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens for designated patient population.
Provides routine drug information to healthcare providers.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited university required.
Completion of post-graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience strongly preferred.
License to practice pharmacy in Alabama required.
Proof of current AHA BLS must be provided or obtained by the end of the orientation period.
