What is an RBT?
An RBT works one-on-one with a client using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and techniques to decrease maladaptive behaviors by teaching functional replacement skills. The goal of therapy is to teach skills that promote client independence and social integration. This is done through a behavioral assessment and treatment plan designed by the supervising Board Certified Behavior Analyst. This plan is implemented by the RBT through daily therapy sessions, although the hours and service locations vary by client.
Specific duties include:
- Implementing interventions specified in the client's treatment plan
- Collecting data in real time throughout the session
- Daily progress notes
- Active communication with team members, including caregivers and supervising BCBA
- Assist analyst in developing/gathering materials to be used with clients
- Being present for supervision with BCBA (minimum of 5% of total work hours as required by the BACB)
- Modeling interventions for caregivers
Part-Time Employee Requirements:
- Resume
- Driver's License
- High school diploma/equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Active Registered Behavior Technician certification through the BACB
- Level II background check (AHCA)
- Must be fluent in English, bilingual preferred
- Reliable transportation
- Adequate physical mobility (e.g. able to get up and down from the floor without hesitation, able to run a short distance in the case of client elopement/danger, etc.)
- Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
- Active Broward County Vendor Badge (required only for clients who receive services in the school setting)
- NPI number
*This is a part-time position for 12 hours per week. Services will be provided at school from 8-10:30 am. Broward school badge is required.
Starting pay range is $25-29/hour depending on experience. Pay schedules are as follows:
- Level 1- $25/hour for billable services, $15/hour for non-billable services
- Level 2- $27/hour for billable services, $15/hour for non-billable services
- Level 3- $29/hour for billable services, $15/hour for non-billable services
