Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – Labor & Delivery
Length: 13 weeks
3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule minimum. Some like to work all weekends and others don’t like to work them at all. As long as it’s covered, it really doesn’t matter to me.
Call: one shift per 4-week schedule
Requirements:
- AZ License
- 3+ years of experience required
- C-section experience required
- Must be proficient in fetal monitoring and the actions taken for fetal distress.
- Must be able to care for patients with pre-eclampsia
- Clinical background in high-risk patients. Since there is NOT an in-house OB, nurses need to be very proficient with their assessment skills and be able to handle OB emergencies until the provider arrives.
- Must be able to function in L&D and couplet care (they don’t always utilize their LDRPs as couplet care beds, but can do so if census is low).
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- Intermediate or advanced Fetal Monitoring required
Other Details:
- Charting System: Allscripts – Sunrise
- May float to ED or MS if experienced
- # of beds: 7 L&D beds, 2 Triage beds, 10 Postpartum beds, 1-3 births per day, 830 births per year
- Ratios typically 1:2
- Support staff on unit: OB scrub tech, HUC
