Medical/Surgical/Pediatrics (MS2)
- 24 private rooms
- Nursing ratio: 4 to 6:1
- Patients include:
- DVT/PE
- Alcohol and drug withdrawal
- Respiratory failure
- COPD Exacerbation
- Infectious diseases (i.e. – UTI, cellulitis, osteomyelitis)
- Acute/chronic renal disease
- Pediatrics (Med/Surg)
Job Summary: Registered nurses, regardless of specialty or work setting, utilize the Standards of Professional Nursing Practice and the listed competencies, in caring for the patients at Summit Healthcare.
Essential Functions
Nursing standards of practice as outlined below:
Standard 1: Assessment
- Provides initial and ongoing assessment and interpretation of patients within the framework of holistic professional nursing practice.
- Integrates knowledge from environmental factors into the assessment process.
- Assesses and interprets information regarding the patient’s culture, values, and ability to participate in their care.
- Identifies barriers to effective communication.
- Assesses patient’s ability to manage their health.
Standard 2: Diagnosis
- Identifies risks to the patient’s health and safety.
- Uses assessment data to identify and communicate actual or potential diagnoses.
- Documents diagnoses to facilitate determination of expected outcomes.
Standard 3: Outcomes Identification
- Identifies expected outcomes for an individualized patient treatment plan.
- Documents expected outcomes as measurable goals.
Standard 4: Planning
- Develops, coordinates, and updates an individualized plan of care.
- Prioritizes nursing interventions to achieve patient outcomes.
Standard 5: Implementation
- Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients or families.
- Implements prescribed interventions and performs independent nursing interventions.
Standard 6: Evaluation
- Utilizes data to evaluate the plan of care.
- Documents complete and accurate data for every patient.
Required Education and Experience
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current AZ RN license.
- CPR Certification.
Physical Demands: Exerts up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
