Job Summary:
Responsible for providing support in the design, development, implementation, and monitoring of rehabilitation programs to improve outcomes, processes, and participant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, prepare and carry out individually designed programs of occupational therapy treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, enhance emotional and social well-being, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
- Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit and to meet the patient's goals and needs.
- Help patients develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities by implementing programs involving manual arts and crafts, practice in functional, prevocational, vocational and homemaking skills, activities of daily living, and sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company policies and procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Work in an office environment/rehab gym, climate controlled through central air conditioning, and outdoors, subject to weather conditions.
- Work with rehab exercise equipment and adaptive/durable medical equipment.
- Have some exposure to the outside environment while traveling and/or working outdoors.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Requires the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Will require 20% sitting, 30% walking, and 50% standing.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Required Qualifications:
- Occupational Therapist license issued by the State of California Occupational Therapy Board required.
- Prior experience working with the frail elderly (geriatric) and disabled populations preferred.
- Current CPR/BLS certification required.
- Post-professional education and training in Physical Agent Modality preferred.
