Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Exercises limited supervision over a group of Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists. An incumbent performs much the same work as employees in the “core” job (Physical Therapist) and participates in the day-to-day operations of the work unit, with “lead” work comprising a relatively minor portion of the overall job. The work requires knowledge of the policies, procedures, and equipment applicable to OT/PT/ST.
Essential Duties:
- Completes / monitors daily patient schedule and oversees clinical patient loads. Communicates with Clinical Coordinator regarding daily schedule or staffing issues. Provides rounds coverage as appropriate. Oversees scheduling of patient programs, i.e. Joint Class, Stroke Night, Parkinson’s Group, etc. as appropriate. Oversees and/or delegates orientation of new staff, students, and volunteers.
- Acts as liaison to Director, Clinical Coordinator, department staff, and other disciplines. Meets with Director and Clinical Coordinator monthly. Communicates team input regarding program development/enhancement.
- Coordinates and/or facilitates team communication and effectiveness. Schedules and facilitates team meetings on a regular basis. Meets with clinical leads/team leaders from other disciplines and/or other departments. Promotes and ensures collaboration between clinical staff and support staff. Communicates support staff availability for therapy-related tasks and determines appropriate method for work completion.
- Takes responsibility to ensure quality performance, efficiency, and effectiveness of the team. Takes authority to triage and problem-solve for daily team functioning as appropriate. Provides appropriate input for Clinical Coordinator regarding therapist performance standards and technical competencies.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program and completion of Clinical Fieldwork. Knowledge and experience in rehabilitation, orthopedic, medical/surgical settings that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities preferred.
- Requires a minimum of two years of clinical physical therapy experience in the direct delivery of patient care.
License/Certification:
- Current Washington State license for Physical Therapy.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
