Overview
Assists physicians and nurses in the outpatient procedural setting with endoscopic procedures.
Responsibilities
- Complete on the job training to assist the physicians and nurses with various GI procedures, including but not limited to colonoscopies and upper GI procedures.
- Prepares procedure room for case, assists the physician during the case, maintaining clean examination areas by setting up rooms and cleaning instruments after the case.
- Responsible for proper functioning of equipment that includes cleaning and disinfecting.
- Process specimen handling.
- Scope reprocessing as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory par levels in procedure rooms, restocking endoscopy related supplies in procedure rooms, and monitoring expiration dates.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- High school graduate with previous health care experience preferred.
- Must possess the ability to anticipate, prioritize, and coordinate work.
- Must function independently, as well as a member of a team in a high-stress environment.
- Excellent verbal communication skills required.
Required Licensure/Certifications
- Must obtain BLS certification within six months of employment.
- Must maintain their BLS certification at all times.
- Currently Registered with the New Hampshire Board of Registration for Medical Technicians.
