SUMMARYThe Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) provides both clinical care to patients and direct oversight of day-to-day responsibilities of nursing team members. The CNL is the main contact for a variety of nursing functions in support of management and staff. Serves as a resource for clinical expertise and mentoring/coaching of staff. Facilitates the delivery of quality patient care through strong critical thinking skills, open communication, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary health team. The CNL drives the staff to provide an exceptional experience for the patient and family.
The Inpatient Psychiatric Team (G1) at Rochester General Hospital specializes in Adult Inpatient Psychiatry. Our dedicated team on G1 is committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to our patients. We primarily care for individuals who are medically stable but may present with a variety of diagnoses, including Schizophrenia, Mood Disorders, Depression, and Anxiety.
STATUS: Full Time (36 hours per week)
LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Inpatient Psychiatry (G1)
SCHEDULE: Day/Evening. Weekend On-Call (one weekend per month)
ATTRIBUTES- Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- 1 - 3 years experience as a Registered Nurse preferred; demonstrated leadership qualities and behaviors preferred.
- Registered Nurse license in New York State
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
RESPONSIBILITIES- Assessment: Performs initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data (i.e., physical, psychological, educational, and risk-screen data appropriate for the chronological/developmental age of the patient).
- Performance Improvement: Demonstrates knowledge of evidence-based practice within practice area and identifies opportunities for performance improvement. Participates and utilizes the performance improvement process to improve clinical practice.
- Direct oversight of nursing personnel: Assumes responsibility and accountability for oversight of nursing and non-nursing personnel on a unit. Functions as a unit leader as needed, with the ability to act as a resource person (both clinically and non-clinically) for nursing personnel, physicians, and providers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing, or squatting.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:- RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)
PAY RANGE: $39.00 - $51.25
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future.
