Retina Consultants San Diego is heavily involved in high-quality phase II and III industry-sponsored clinical trials and is in a growth phase. We are looking for an experienced Clinical Research Assistant (RA) to add to our dynamic research team. This is a full-time position in our Poway office. CRAs with experience in ophthalmology, particularly Retina, are preferred. Excellent communication skills, high-level attention to detail, and high ethical standards are mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC) with Electronic Data Capture (EDC) and resolving queries using the Sponsor database.
- Prep patient charts with the appropriate documents per protocol prior to patient scheduled visits.
- Assist Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC) with quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) on patient charts prior to entering into Electronic Data Capture (EDC).
- Filing and organizing regulatory and patient-related documents.
- Concierge to patients while waiting for treatment.
- Sanitize and provide a clean space for patients while rotating treatment.
- Assist Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC) with Intraocular Pressure (IOP) after treatment.
- Replenish stock of utilities in exam and treatment rooms.
- Assist Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC) with prepping for Monitoring Visits (MV).
- Assist coordinating patients in the clinic for workflow and assuring all procedures are completed following the Schedule of Activities (SOA) (Work-up and vitals, BCVA, Labs, ECG, All Images for visit specific, Exam, and Treatment).
- Maintain and update training certifications in delegated clinical research trials.
- Receive and confirm arrival of new shipments and stock products accordingly.
- Opportunity to coordinate 1-2 clinical studies as appropriate.
General Qualifications:
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) to assist with blood draws and specimen processing as needed.
- Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new computer programs. Proficient knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills needed to interact professionally and effectively in the work environment, as well as to effectively document research procedures. Ability to read, comprehend, and discuss research materials.
- Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to work with a variety of personnel within the research and clinic departments.
- Courteous, respectful of co-workers, and maintain a safe and collegiate workplace environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of or experience in Ophthalmology.
- Medical Assistant (MA) certification and experience with patient care.
