Bay State Physical Therapy, in partnership with Veteran’s Home located in Bristol, RI, is growing and our patients need your help! Our clinic is set in a great LTC facility in Bristol RI. This is a home that treats the residents only and works on both short term and long-term care issues, melding the OP experience with the LTC experience. We have a great team with vast experience in physical therapy. We have both OT and PT collaborating daily for max return of function and safety. We work with a combination of medical model and educational based services, which makes our setting rewarding and progressive.
We are currently looking for a motivated and dynamic, part-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients with speech and language needs to determine the nature and extent of their challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that target patients' specific needs and goals.
- Conduct Speech, language, swallow screens secondary to status change.
- Treatment of speech, voice and language deficits secondary to stroke or other Neuromuscular Disorders such as Parkinson’s Disease.
- Use evidence-based practice to guide treatment decisions and modify treatment plans as needed.
- Provide therapy services to patients individually or in group sessions.
- Participate in clinical meetings, continuing education, and professional development activities to stay current with evidence-based practice.
- Work with and as a team alongside other clinicians in the office to provide the best possible treatment for our clients.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited university.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- State licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Minimum of two years of experience working.
- Knowledge of and experience with a variety of evaluation tools and treatment methods appropriate for a wide variety of ages and speech and language disorders.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
