Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) is an upbeat, fast-paced unit dedicated to post-op Cardiovascular patients such as CABGs. CVPCU also focuses on acute/chronic conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure, afib, and STEMI patients. CVPCU works closely with Surgeons and the heart clinic to ensure their patients are able to successfully return home at discharge.
- Patient population may include: post operative cardiac and thoracic surgery, kidney failure, pulmonary issues, overdoses, arrhythmias, and myocardial infarctions.
- This unit requires excellent critical thinking skills and quick decision-making skills.
- Due to the diverse nature, this unit provides numerous educational opportunities for our coworkers.
- 32 - patient bed unit
- RN ratio 3-4 patients, with tech support
- 24/7 Leadership support
- Collaborate daily with Care Management team, RT, PT and OT, Lab, Pharmacy, Transport Team, and the OR.

Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Preferred Education: BSN
- Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
- Experience: Two years direct patient care experience as a registered nurse. One year experience as department charge nurse.
