A Day in the Life
The preferred working location for this role is the Medtronic facility located in Mounds View, Minnesota; however, the individual may also work remotely within the US or onsite at another US-based Medtronic facility.
As a Senior IT Program Manager, you will lead program teams focused on building and managing Digital Health capabilities. You will engage across Medtronic’s Operating Units, Functions and Regions to deliver these net-new technical capabilities. You will drive alignment with business, technology, and architecture teams to build roadmaps that align technical delivery, business team onboarding and continuous improvement of the technical capabilities in your program. You will manage financials, resourcing and objectives for the program and coordinate investment between IT and business stakeholders.
In support of these emerging capabilities, you will develop governance and operating models in collaboration with technical delivery teams and vendors, and manage key relationships amongst sponsors, business leaders, IT leaders and vendors.

- Provide leadership for those involved in the development, design and optimization of one or more information technology and systems functions supporting company business processes and technical information systems platforms.
- Manage scope, schedule, and budget for strategic programs that transform the Medtronic business.
- Provide thought leadership in developing differentiating capabilities in the Digital Health space.
- Collaborate across Global IT, ensuring your program complies with all required policies and processes.
- Remove blockers for the team, escalating issues and risks when needed.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis, selection and development of enterprise applications and platforms.
- Provide direction for the effort required to protect the company's data, tools and information systems.
- Coordinate delivery of services to user groups and ensures IT service is uninterrupted.
- Accountable for overall program process, performance, and customer satisfaction for multiple strategic programs.
- Establish program objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets.
- Develop new policies and procedures to mature program management within the team.
- Resolve problems and issues for the team that are typically difficult and undefined, and require detailed information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem.
- Communicate and lead meetings with internal and external customers and vendors, conduct briefings to higher level management team.
- Influence across functions and businesses while balancing divergent objectives to gain cooperation of other parties on program objectives and execution plans.
MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 7+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience with an advanced degree.
NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)
- Strongly Preferred:
- Broad management knowledge and experience to lead project teams in one department.
- Experience working in a regulated environment, experienced with formal software validation and verification processes.
- Medical Technology and/or Life Science industry experience, desire to learn about Medtronic’s therapies and a desire to define software solutions that complement them.
- Experience establishing enterprise systems and integrations between large systems.
- Understanding of program and project management best practices.
- Experience working in a product model.
- Understanding of financial management, forecasting and management of CapEx and OpEx.
- Demonstrated experience providing guidance to project team members.
- Strong customer service awareness and orientation.
- A passion for transformation.
- Comfortable resolving competing priorities and meeting project deadlines.
- Ability to manage issues associated with project interdependence/design conflict, resource allocation and change management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working globally for a large multinational corporation.
- Previous Medtronic experience.
- Successful track record managing Agile software development projects.
- Previous experience leading delivery teams working with AWS Native Services and/or data engineering teams.
- Experience establishing data strategies and working with healthcare data.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $150,400.00 - $225,600.00. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
