Overview
The Director of Clinic Services is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of the entire organization. The Director will work to improve the efficiency of clinical staff and foster collaboration among physicians, nurses, and other care providers by minimizing their administrative burden. The Director is responsible for the quality of patient care, championing high standards of patient care by implementing strategies and plans for the department. The Director will ensure that patient care is provided by qualified, competent, and service-oriented staff. This position is also responsible for planning and executing quality processes to promote patient safety and compliance with applicable state and federal standards.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Develop departmental goals for increased productivity, improved efficiencies, and enhanced patient care.
- Ensure that procedures and workflow are consistent with organizational objectives, treatment protocols, regulations, and standards of care.
- Regularly monitor performance measures to identify best practices and manage the implementation of necessary changes.
- Develop and implement department policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the Executive Administrator in identifying and developing clinical strategies and innovations to fulfill business objectives.
- Develop educational materials and in-services as requested.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising team members.
- Responsible for ongoing performance evaluation, guidance, and development of personnel.
- Oversee time and attendance records, ensuring staff are accurately documenting time records.
- Keep current with all standards and regulations to help ensure that the organization complies with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Plan and operate within an approved budget.
- Conduct regular communication sessions with staff and management to advise and inform of issues relative to clinical services/operations and collaborate with staff, leadership, and providers to initiate improvements.
- Work as part of the Leadership team and assume additional responsibilities and projects as they develop.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing with current state nurse practitioner license OR Physician Assistant with current state license and certified through NCCPA.
- Extensive experience in a clinical setting along with 3-5 years' experience in a director or manager role required.
- Experience with providing feedback and developing team members.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and multi-task.
- Strong sense of compassion and personal ethics.
- Understanding of HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Proficient in EHR medical charting system and computer-based data management programs and information systems.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and regulations.
