Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN – CVICU
Shift: Variable D/N, start times (5:30a, 5:30p), 12×3, 36hrs per week, EOW, Holiday as needed
Length: 13 weeks
On Call/Call Back: Rare due to low census. Any missed shift must be made up within 2 weeks of the absence.
Requirements:
- WI license
- Minimum 3 years experience required
- Minimum 2 years CVICU experience
- Must have Fresh Heart experience
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS
- NIHSS
- Charting: Epic within the last year required
- Phlebotomy skills strongly preferred
- BSN not required, strongly preferred
- Float
- No new travelers – at least 1 completed contract
- 22 bed general med/surg ICU with an open heart program
- Ratio 1:2 could increase due to COVID
- Scrub Colors: Black

Cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU) travel nurse jobs provide care to acutely ill patients recovering from cardiothoracic (CTICU) conditions or events, such as open heart surgery, AAA repairs, and CABG. A CVICU travel nurse must be capable of administering care on a full spectrum, from clinical tasks such as medical history analysis and diagnostic testing, to personal care such as counseling patients and family regarding home-care and wellness. Overall, the CVICU nurse treats some of the most acutely ill patients in the hospital and must do so safely and compassionately.
