Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist to join our team in Vernal, UT. This role involves performing a variety of laboratory tests essential for patient care and diagnostics. You will collaborate with the Laboratory Director, Pathologists, and other Technologists to ensure timely and accurate testing for the hospital and local community. The position operates on an evening shift schedule from 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm, with a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and process patient specimens through venipuncture and various culture techniques.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and Joint Commission standards.
- Perform laboratory tests independently and accurately.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, codes, and traumas.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring quality control standards are met.
- Record and retrieve patient data and test results, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Report STAT results within 60 minutes and perform manual tests as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician through ASCP, AMT, or an equivalent organization.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in clinical Lab Science or a related field.
- Willingness to relocate to Vernal, UT.
- Prior hospital experience is preferred.
