Position Summary
Blue Water Ear, Nose, and Throat (partnered with FYZICAL Dizziness and Fall Prevention Centers) is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist for our office located at the Outer Banks in Nags Head, NC. Our office specializes in dizziness and balance issues, but sees patients for a wide range of problems. The right candidate for this position should be able to work independently and as part of our team; we work together to make sure our clients get all the help they need; outside testing or other specialty referrals can easily be sourced by our on-site physician.
In our 500 sq ft gym and private treatment room setting, the Physical Therapist will provide physical therapy services to a variety of patients by using our state-of-the-art equipment (e.g., dynamic posturography system) to help with assessments and treatments.

Primary Functions and Accountabilities
- Performs detailed evaluations and assesses patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Communicates effectively with patients to provide expectations of treatment and achievement of patient goals.
- Employs expertise of patient's diagnosis, symptoms, and results of concluding studies to determine the patient's level of function.
- Responsible for setting priorities for patient's short-term and long-term goals and conclusion of treatment plan (i.e., may include developing new processes using research).
- Maintains accurate and detailed patient records and documents goals and progress in a timely manner.
- Records and maintains a plan of care for each patient that includes specific therapy orders in coordination with the medical plan of care.
- Provides instructions to patients on how to properly perform therapeutic exercise techniques such as vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT), trigger point therapy, and manual therapy.
- Collaborates and coordinates patient care with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Provides education to patients on proper body mechanics and exercises to improve strength, flexibility, and mobility.
- Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with the physician teams, front office, and billing when requested.
- Remains informed with the latest advancements in physical therapy techniques and research.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Ability to provide instructions and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Position Requirements
- BS, MS, or DPT in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
- Current Physical Therapy license in the state of North Carolina.
- 2 years of experience as a licensed Physical Therapist preferred.
- Experience working in an outpatient setting preferred.
