Summary:
The Executive Director Perioperative Services provides overall leadership, coordination and direction, has full departmental control, and is the ultimate decision maker for the provision of quality and safe care for the department's twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week. Provides leadership and assumes all responsibility and accountability for the overall strategic and operational planning and provision of patient care and organizes, directs and controls all clinical and administrative activities. The Executive Director has the ultimate authority to guide and direct the leadership/management team, patient care and operational activities for Perioperative Services. Responsible for establishing, enforcing, and evaluating structures, processes and outcome standards, policies/procedures, and services for the Departments. Serves as a positive role model and sets the tone for the Department's reputation and performance. The Executive Director is expected to provide overall guidance of Directors, Team Leaders, and staff in the care of patients of various ages (infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations).
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing or Bachelor's degree in Nursing with a Master's degree in a health-related field.
- Current Georgia license as a Registered Nurse.
- CNOR certification.
- Must have a minimum of 6 years clinical/administrative experience in Perioperative Services and be clinically credible in coordinating care for an acute patient population with life-threatening problems.
- Candidate must show progressively more responsible management experience with a minimum of 3 years of leadership, management and/or director level experience in a hospital.
- Experience in the use of a Perioperative electronic patient care record.
- Experience in ensuring compliance to regulatory standards (i.e. JC, CMS, DHR, etc.) and preparing for surveys are essential.
- Must possess exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences, as well as problem solve and develop/evaluate programs based on identified needs.
- Must demonstrate the ability to effectively lead others, work collaboratively and interactively with diverse staff in a team environment and demonstrate collaborative ability to work effectively in partnership with multiple physician groups and associates.
- Must have expertise in planning and implementing health-related programs which impact patient care and be experienced in utilization of computers and hospital information systems.
- Evidence of an excellent financial management background.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to coordinate and provide staff training and education with a desire to teach and develop the leadership team.
