Job Summary:
- As an intern, you will perform a variety of surveying tasks. This position works in the field assisting the field crew chief with houseline surveying services, topographic surveys, tree surveys, wetland surveys, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys.
Accountability and Duties:
- Ensures timesheets are submitted on time
- Maintains a good relationship with staff
- Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
- Works closely and coordinates with staff and site superintendents
- Understands and accurately uses all field survey instruments
- Properly maintains and takes care of field equipment
- Obtaining & reading information for the daily projects
- Maintain and electronically file legible field notes and sketches
- Successfully upload and download data files to/from collector
- Successfully upload and download calibration files to/from collector
- Responsible for stocking the company vehicle each morning (supplies & equipment)
- Accurately assists crew chiefs with houseline surveying services
- Accurately assists crew chiefs with topographic, tree, and wetland surveys
- Accurately assists crew chiefs with boundary and ALTA surveys
- Accurately assists crew chiefs with construction staking services
- Accurately assists crew chiefs with record drawings
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent oral and technical written communication skills
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Available to work nights and weekends to complete a project as necessary
- Ability to make independent decisions within a general framework
- Must be fluent in the English language
Education and/or Experience:
- Must be in process of completing a BS from an ABET accredited university in the fields of Civil Engineering, or Environmental Engineering.

Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
